Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Skilldish mobile application, website, and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of the Service

Skilldish is a global marketplace where cooks and chefs ("Chefs") can create profiles, publish recipes and collections, and offer paid access to their content. Users who learn from that content ("Students") can browse, purchase access, and rate content. Skilldish facilitates the platform, payments, and access control. We do not employ Chefs; they are independent creators. Availability of the Service may vary by region and device.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher age required in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. One account per person; do not share accounts for paid content.

4. Use as a Student

When you purchase access to recipes or collections, you receive a time-limited licence to view and use that content for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly perform the content. Refunds are subject to our refund policy (as stated in the app or at the time of purchase). Access expires at the end of the purchased period unless otherwise stated.

5. Use as a Chef

If you register as a Chef, you may upload recipes, collections, images, videos, and descriptions. You grant Skilldish a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute your content as needed to operate the Service. You represent that you own or have the rights to all content you upload and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate law. You are responsible for setting prices, taxes (if applicable), and the accuracy of your content. Payouts to Chefs are subject to our payout policy, verification, and any applicable fees (e.g. platform commission) as communicated in the app or in separate chef agreements.

6. Acceptable use and conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any law or encourage illegal activity.
• Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others.
• Harass, abuse, defame, or harm others.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Circumvent access controls, scrape data, or overload our systems.
• Resell or commercially exploit content beyond the licence we grant.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and take other action we deem necessary to enforce these Terms and protect the Service and users.

7. Payments and fees

Payments for content are processed by third-party providers. By making a purchase, you agree to the applicable payment terms. Prices are as shown at the time of purchase. Skilldish may charge platform fees or commissions on Chef earnings as described in the app or in chef-facing terms. Currency and payout methods may vary by region.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or for other operational or legal reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g. liability limits, dispute resolution) will survive.

9. Disclaimers

The Service and all content are provided "as is". We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for Chef content, user conduct, or third-party services. Cooking and food preparation involve inherent risks; use common sense and follow food-safety practices.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skilldish and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the Service or any content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to Skilldish in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria, unless otherwise required by mandatory law in your country of residence.
